ABOUT US
.jpg)
We vacationed in the Great Smoky Mountains for the first time a couple of years back and fell in love with the area, the people and the gorgeous mountains. We knew then that we wanted to own a piece of that heaven and we knew it had to have a mountain view. Once we entered the Sherwood Forest Resort it was clear that it was the place for us. Perfect location, close to all activities but tucked away from the hustle and bustle. We hope that when you come to visit you will stay with us. We'd love to host you at our Sherwood cabin and we hope you make some beautiful memories here, as we have.
Sunrise from the deck

True log cabin with outstanding mountain views just minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway in gated Sherwood Forest Resort, with check-in available on site. The cabin is close to all the attractions in a beautiful wooded setting with a direct view of Mt. LeConte. Living room with cathedral ceilings, wood floors and a soaring stacked stone, gas fireplace. Spacious fully equipped kitchen, breakfast bar and dining area that takes advantage of the view. Large upstairs primary bedroom with king size bed, electric fireplace, jetted tub and en suite bathroom. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed and there is a pull out sofa bed in the living room for the kids. Enjoy the Smoky Mountain views from the game room loft, challenge your family to a game of pool, chess, checkers or one of the arcade games on the multicade...maybe Pac-Man? Relax in a rocking chair on the wrap around deck after a soak in the private hot tub. Guests are free to enjoy the outdoor resort pool in season.
No scary, narrow winding mountain roads to get to cabin. Located less than a mile and a half from the main strip, the cabin sits alone at the top of the driveway at the end of the road, so it feels more secluded than the usual cabin in a resort neighborhood. It has all the benefits of a resort property --community swimming pool, city water, good Wi-Fi, manicured landscaping, security gates at entrance, lit roads at night...but none of the downside of being too close to neighbors and seeing everyone in their hot tubs! Highland Ridge Cabin is up at the end of the road, atop a hill, with the woods as our neighbor. You will need to drive up the fairly steep driveway, but don't be afraid...it's paved and there's a turnaround to get back down easily. And once you're up at the top...oh, the view...and the privacy. You won't even know you're in a resort!

We keep a variety of spices and try to keep salt & pepper available for guest use.
You will need to bring your food and drinks and any perishable condiments like ketchup, mayo, etc. We provide plates, glasses, silverware, coffee mugs and wine glasses. If you want to use paper plates or paper napkins you will need to bring those. We provide 1 roll (starter supply) of paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher soap and a couple of kitchen garbage bags. If you think you will need more please bring them with you.

We provide a starter supply (2 rolls) of toilet paper for each bathroom as well as travel size soap, 2 makeup remover wipes and towels. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom for guest use. You will need to bring all of your own personal products such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste etc.
Can I bring my electronics, do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, we do have Wi-Fi and we have cable TV. The Wi-Fi password is posted in the cabin.
LOCATION/CHECK-IN
Is it hard to find the cabin?
The cabin is located in Sherwood Forest Resort, only a few minutes from light #10 on the Pigeon Forge Parkway. The roads are paved and there are no steep drop offs or twisty mountain roads to be concerned about. Once you enter the resort and come to our road, Highland Ridge is up a fairly steep driveway. That's what gives you so much privacy and an amazing view! It's paved and there is a turnaround so it's easy to get back down again. The resort has street lights.
How do I get into the cabin? Where do I go to get the keys?
We offer self check-in and keyless entry! We have a coded door lock and the code is changed for each guest. You will receive your code in an email a day or two prior to check-in.
What time is check-in?
Check-in is 4:00 pm and Check-out is 10:00 am. Our cleaners do their absolute best to have the cabin ready for 4:00 but sometimes during busy seasons there are situations beyond their control and it may take a bit longer.
PAYMENT/CANCELLATION
When do I pay and what if I have to cancel?
We require a 50% deposit and balance is due 60 days prior to check-in. If you book less than 60 days from check-in date you will need to pay in full. Our cancellation policy is fully refundable (100%) if 60 days or more prior to check-in date. If less than 60 days there is no refund. We suggest travel insurance.
What if I'm coming in the Winter and the roads are bad?
Road conditions are never guaranteed. 4 wheel drive vehicles may be necessary in Winter conditions. We do not provide towing, plowing or snow removal service and no refunds will be given for weather-related reasons. We suggest travel/cancellation insurance.
Does it snow a lot in the Winter in the Smokies?
The area is not known for lasting snow accumulations. Pigeon Forge averages about 6" of snow a year. It does snow occasionally between late November and late March and it sure is beautiful. Be prepared with enough food and necessities if a storm is expected, although it will likely be short lived.
Are my payments secure?
Yes! We use a secure payment processing company and we never see your credit card information.
GENERAL CABIN INFO
Is there furniture out on the deck?
Yes, we have a wrap-around deck and there are 3 seating areas. We have 2 Adirondack chairs and a side table on the back deck next to the hot tub. The front deck has 4 rocking chairs and 2 side tables. Please do not bring any indoor furniture outside.
Why is the hot tub running all the time?
It's normal for the hot tub to stay on. It needs to be on to circulate the water to keep it clean. Please keep the cover on at all times when you're not using it. It will not heat up if you turn up the temperature and leave the cover off. And please do not sit or stand on the cover, it will break and they are expensive.
Can I start a little campfire in the woods to roast marshmallows?
No! No flames or fires of any kind are allowed in the resort or on the property. No candles on the deck or inside the cabin. Fires are very dangerous in the woods with log cabins all around. We have some battery operated lanterns hanging by the hot tub you can feel free to take down and use outside during your stay.
Can I bring my cat, dog, bird, pig, hamster, pet lizard?
No! Sorry, we are strictly a no pet cabin and it is enforced.
Can I smoke at the cabin?
No! Sorry, we are strictly a no smoking cabin and it is enforced.
Why are there bugs/lady bugs in the cabin?
We have a regular preventive maintenance program in place for pest control. However, we are in the mountains and bugs can get in (keeping the doors closed will help). Ladybugs are harmless even though they can be a nuisance sometimes. We treat for them but at certain times of the year there may be carpenter bees outside (they love the wood on decks and cabins but don't bother humans) or woodpeckers (they love the carpenter bee larvae). These are all normal to see.
Will I see a bear?
If you're lucky! Black Bears are plentiful in the Smokies and exciting to see. But we don't want to invite one in! Never leave food outside or in your car. Clean up grill after use. Keep car doors locked. Make sure to leave garbage secured in bear proof containers outside. Never approach a bear!
